Hey loves, it’s been a minute! Tad long and I do apologize for keeping you in the dark. It’s all been a blur for me. 

Also, for the most part of this year it’s been a back and forth with working and making my life and loved ones lives better. Seriously guys you have to have a balanced life and not only live for your internet family.

Mellow Yellow or not so Mellow Yellow. Todays post is all about this yellow slip dress, which is the highlight of todays look. I wanted to talk about the journey to "SELF REALIZATION". An important journey that each human being has to embark on to get to their destination in order to fulfil their purpose on the earth. Before we start this discussion lets talk about this gorgeous look.

THINK BIG! RED SEASON; SWEATER x CULOTTES

Happy Tuesday loves, I hope you are having an awesome day so far. I am so ready for Christmas but truly it seems just like yesterday that the year began. I'm thankful for everything and so grateful for life in abundance. 

In today's post, I'm sharing my love for red and this gorgeous sweater weather is everything to me. I love this chunky cable knit sweater. It's a little oversized but very comfortable to slip into.



This season the color "RED" is the most seen and most styled and honestly, I can't get enough of it. I am constantly aiming to style the red trend in different ways.



I paired this knit wear with a pair of black cullotes. Very comfy and very easy to wear. Honestly, keeps me warm! What's the point of wearing a knit wear or sweater if it won't keep you warm. Lol.

This look is a mix of casual yet chic, my pair of red booties take the outfit from casual to chic real quick. Although, they are not the most comfy they work well with any look and are very stylish. Want to purchase this red booties make sure you go a size up than your usual size.

Think Big is what came to my mind as I  write  this post. Honestly, so much has happened to me this year and I can truly say that it has been a mix of the good, the good and the ugly. No major bad stuff so far. 

But I believed in my dreams and I even outdid myself and my expectations. I was able to put effort into what I believe in and made my dreams come to reality . My advice to you if you are reading this post now; there's still some time to make that dream a reality, start somewhere and always remember that your dreams have to scare you. 

I want to appreciate those of us who struggle with photographers and photography in general. I want to thank my lover for an awesome session. Sessions that are effortless.

Happy hump day loves! Its the mid week already and I'm currently going through a tad lot, mentally. I think I might have hurt someone close to me. I think I lost them even as my friend but life's more complicated than it seems.

BLUE VELVET CRUSH x COLLABORATION

 Hello lovelies, how are you all doing today? . I hope great? I really don't have so much to say about the election (Disappointed)  but we have a new president and as much as I would have loved Hilary to win we can only hope for the best during  Donald's tenure.

 In today's post  I have collaborated with my blogger babe, the gorgeous Chimee of  @_aroundthewaygyrl blog. Really excited about this post as this is my second collaboration post and I hope to do so many more.

The first time I met Chimee was at a bloggers brunch that she organized early in the year and here we are collaborating.Wroking with her on this one was very inspiring and fun.

We've put together a blue velvet post for you all. Navy is definitely one of my favorite colors to style so I'm overly excited. Velvet is one of the hottest trends this season. I love how versatile the velvet trend has become. The fact that you can literally wear a velvet piece in different styles and dress it up or down. BROWN BLOGGERS BOWL EVENT x IMPORTANCE OF NETWORKING !!

Can we throw it all the way back to last friday night!! I had a wonderful time with these gorgeous ladies. I dont just see them as friends but sisters that i want to grow with.

 Earlier in the year i attended a brunch which was organised by the gorgeous fashion blogger Chime or (_aroundthewaygyrl) on Instagram.  When i got invited to this bowling event i was so excited.  The fact that melanated women could come together and share their blackgirlmagic was amazing, Taking away from the ideology that women compete with each other. Just being able to grow together and build each others brand through networking was important.

Th brunch was one of my first events to attend as a blogger and at that point i didnt understand the power of networking. Lets talk more about this event.

The location is one of things i love. Very jive and had people who just really wanted to have fun, basically came out for the fun. Bowl&Barrels in the City Center Houston was the bowling alley used. The service was awesome  food and drinks were delicious. I also like the fact that unlike other bowling alleys it wasnt over crowded. Everyone had their own space.

This event really enlightened me to the importance of networking. I met a lot of gorgeous ladies that  are my social media friends and we connected and work together or plan on working together.

CALL ME MS GRAY IN THE FALL!! SHADES OF GRAY!!

I cannot emphasize my love for the fall season. Having to play around with different outfits styles and making an effort to layer and make it loove stylish and well put together. Ahhhhh!! Life has been given. 

In todays post, im serious guys dont call me Ms Essien, my name is now Mrs is Gray. lol not Just  joking. Can you see this monochromatic perfection in this post. I have come to accept that in styling you dont have to have all the colors right, in fact, i prefer little contrasts here and there.

Ive paired this gray mock neck midi dress with this ankle sock shoe. For the extra chilly days i have thrown on this comfy gray jacket. I love how all the shades of gray work together. 

To be honest, I will be wearing these outfits and styles this fall and these are definitely some of my fall wardrobe staples so you will be seeing my style a lot of midi dresses this season, best said now before it seems like breaking news ... I am too dry ...lol.

METALLICS x SHADES OF GRAY (HOWISTYLEDIT is One)

Hello loves, Happy  almost friday to you all. I promise you its been a very stressful week for me, to the point where i kept procrastinating my blog posts. 

I have good news to share with you all. October is the month that HowIstyledit turned one yay!!. Even though technically i created this blogsite two years ago, proper handwork and effort only started two years ago. In celebration i have this You balloons  and i hope you like them.

In todays,sharing my love for this metallic skirt and gray shades. Lately ive been going back to my old obsessions. Colors like grays, nudes, burgundy and white are my go to during the fall season. I found myself styling gray outfits lately, sorry in advance guys if i suddenly goes all gray in here. 

Ive paired the perfect sweater with this metallic skirt from +boohoo.com  very affordable and gorgeous. I also paired this look with these different shades of gray clutch and shoes. This loo was pretty easy to put together based on the fact that initially i was skeptical about styling metallics. This outfit is just perfect for fall, throw on a coat and you are ready to slay with the perfect layers.

GOT MY FALL GLOW ON! FEEL BEAUTY PRODUCT REVIEW!!

Happy Fridays lovelies!! I hope you are all excited about the weekend. In today's post I'm sharing my love for these amazing beauty products by @feelbeauty. I got sent two products to review. One is a hair product (Beachy) which is a complete texture mist. The other is a self tanning glow kit (Glowing) which helps enhance and stimulate melanin.

Because I already have enough melanin. lol I have been using his product to even out my skin tone and trust me it actually gives me that extra glow that I need/would be needing this fall/winter season when the sun goes into hiding.

Beachy(hair mist) review;  The hair mist helped with the texture of my low cut natural hair. Especially when I'm on the go and don't feel like wearing my wig, I spray the mist on and move it around with my fingers, after allowing it to air dry my hair looks gorgeous. This mist actually softens the hair which is why I love it.

GLOWING (Self Tanning); I love having that evenly toned skin with that extra glow. This product has got me feeling extremely beautiful inside and out. I showed the process in pictures of how I got the perfect glow using this product. I had a sugar scrub with my homemade sugar and coconut oil scrub , before applying this product. Let's talk about this below!!!

FOR THE LOVE OF NAVY x RUFFLES x COMFORT!!!

Happy Hump Day my lovelies!! I hope everyone's having a great day so far. I personally took today off and ild be spending some time with my family and shopping as well. 

In today's, post i am sharing my love for all things Navy, ruffle and comfort. Lets talk about comfort a little bit. Its all about being free from pain or constraints, which heartbreaking for me to say but truthfully, high heeled shoes bring. 

This look is all about being stylish yet comfortable hence, my flat pair of shoes. If you've been following me on this journey, you would know i have a thing for wearing the color blue particularly Navy blue.

Which brings me to this point where i share my short story about HOW I HAVE RESTYLED ALL THIS PIECES.

During the summer i purchased this ruffle off the shoulder top from +boohoo.com . I also purchased this navy pant in a coord set from +ASOS . What other time but fall to style both pieces. This fall shades of blue are really in and i must remind you that i was totally out of outfit ideas for this look. When i figured out what i wanted to style i reminded myself that sometimes i want to look casual but still be a stunner. I will be sharing how i am able to recycle my clothing in another post.

I also paired this outfit with a red bag, great contrast i think. What are your thoughts? My oversized Celine style glasses from @fxshnjunkestore has also been a winner for me lately. This outfit can be worn casually and as always if you want to switch it up, just put on a pair of high heeled shoes, roll down the ankle and you are good to go.

In today's post I have styled this gray jumper paired with a pleather skirt. Very simple yet stylish. 

You won't imagine how much warmth I am getting from this faux fur around my neck.

I love this outfit and as I always say styling for me goes beyond selecting outfits for different occasions, however I focus more on styling one outfit that covers all style trends and does not limit the occasion that it can be worn to..

WRAP DRESS + THIGH HIGH BOOTS

    Have you ever been so confused about what to wear? Especially my ladies. You have a wardrobe filled with loads of clothes but you still say I have nothing to wear. 

Yes, I can relate. That was me in the early yesterday morning while looking for a church outfit. I was confused, I said I have to go to church but wanted to look a certain way. Little did I know that this beautiful wrap dress given to me by my grandma would solve my misery. 

The wrap dress is amazing simple and beautiful. The length is perfect, talk more of the geometric design. I love the black and what colors of this dress, simple yet sophisticated.

I paired this outfit with a pair of pointed thigh high boots. I love how classy the outfit looks. 

Moreover, you all know how much I love the fact that my outfits can be worn to different occasions, I wore this to church and would leave you to imagine where else you could wear this outfit to if I could to church. *smiles*

Camel + Mom jeans

Hey loves, happy Friyay... I haven't really blogged this week... I got so caught up with personal stuff .. Don't we all. 

As the weather gets chilly and more chilly.. The only solution is to cover up..lol

However, just because we have to wear a ton of layers does not mean we can not remain stylish and fabulous. 

Hence, today's post which shows how I styled my camel coat, nude top, mom jeans and nude shoes. 

I've been loving very neutral colors like nude, grays and even black lately. 

This outfit works well for any occasion this season as you are warm but still very stylish. I choose this high waisted mom jeans just to add a little oldie look to it.

Hey loves, I'm so excited to share today's post with you as always.

My best guess is you all had a very interesting weekend especially those who celebrate Halloween or those of you who just like to play dress up like me. 

The weekend is over and I wanted to share and interesting part of my weekend with you , Sunday Funday!! 

So yesterday I wore this gorgeous outfit to church. DENIM ON DENIM or the Canadian tuxedo as it is called. 

I love recycling things in my wardrobe  and wearing them again as I remember posting a denim on denim look like this in my previous post.

I put on a camel coat to protect me from getting cold and also love this flare jeans as they elongate my legs.

The nude pointy shoes are just so gorgeous and are actually one of my current favorite pairs. 

This outfit can be worn casually or to an occasion. I wore this to church and you can rock this look to a brunch with friends or family, birthday parties amongst others.

I'm really excited to sharer this post with you. Especially the journey of a thousand miles I had to get on to get this amazing suede dress. 

It was worth every stress and effort I put into selected a nice outfit.
